A pair of finger picking guitarists opening with local artist John Shain and ending with Hot Tuna master Jorma Kaukonen.

John Shain plays a nice licks on some old blues and instrumentals but his own rootsy songs are more subdued. But a very popular choice for the audience of dead heads, old hippies, and students at the ArtsCenter.

Jorma played a number of songs from the Hot Tuna catalog of old time blues and folk songs including "Hesitation Blues" and "Keep on Trucking". He also wowed us all with the instrumentals that spanned multiple genres. Beginning with his days with the Jefferson Airplane it was clear that Jorma was an interesting an innovative guitarist. His Hot Tuna and solo albums showed his love of old music.

An enjoyable evening by a true acoustic master.
